I have a Palm T3 running Tom Tom.
You get street maps for UK and the programme ready loaded on an SD card - you just pulg it in and go.
All of Europe (well West Europe) and the UK detailed maps down to house numbers and the programme come on a CD and will fit on a 256 KB card. It is only major roads in Europe but I have managed to find road junctions to within 200m of all the Hotels on the Stelvio or Bust Run (as an example).
You need a card reader to load the maps - well, you dont need one but it takes all day to uplaod it if you dont.
I was a bit dissapointed with the Europe maps at first. As it says on the can, it is major roads of Europe. Virtually no town names are displayed although you can search destinations.
I was really amazed to be able to work out the locations of our run hotels. I just found them on
www.viamichelin.com, searched on Tom Tom and entered the location as a favourite. You cant enter exact addresses as you can with the UK map, just the junctions of major roads so you do need to know where you are going and do a bit of homework before you go.
I suspect that the Tom Tom for the Pocket PC will work the same although the file sizes may be much bigger. The Palm ones fit on a 256 MB card plus a whole load of games
