Could someone please inform me of what the Harmon Kardon pack is/does?I've currently got the boost and single cd but i've been to the dealers today to spec a new MINI and forgot to ask what was what.Is it an extra to the rest of your system i.e.will I still need radio boost and cd fitted or is it a complete system?.£350 sounds okay but if i've then got to add £240 odd quid on top for the boost and cd it might be getting a bit close on my budget.Sorry to seem such a cheapskate i know most people wanting decent ICE will probably spend a small fortune but unfortunately i don't have one(I do know how to make a small fortune....don't you start off with a big one)Hope someone can help.cheers

I havent ever considered HK but £350 seems a little too cheap for it. I would imagine that the headunit is extra, and that the dealer said "its £350 to add to your current order (on top of the £240)".

People who dont consider HK go aftermarket and can get much better sounding systems with it. My biggest put off was the fact that the standard mini headunit jumped too much, and I already had a alpine cdr9812-rb which I love.

Yes right the HK is on top of boost which is required. Some love it some loath it

If you do a search of the forums for HK you'll find some good threads all about it... it's basically a decent system although for the price (£210 + £350 for CD) you could get yourself a better aftermarket solution. It basically depends on whether you can be bothered to sort that all out and then carry around face-offs in return for better sound... or not as the case may be!

Thanks for the response,looks like i'll stick with the system that i have on my current MINI and possibly upgrade at a later stage.I like the idea of the factory installation but agree that for nearly £600 is alot of money.I suppose i will have to check it out at the dealers,see if they'll loan me a car with one in.My cd used to skip like mad but i've found that the longer i've had the car the better it has got.To the point where it seems like ages since it last jumped.
