| I have the cordoba beige sport seats and at first the lumbar support felt great. Now my seats are killing my back. I've ripped out some of the foam and tried every seating position available. Is there a way to replace the sport seat with a non sport(non-lumbar) version through my Mini dealer? And at what cost? Or should I purchase different cushions and pillows looking for the correct position that will make my ride more comfortable? | You might try sitting on a cushion. Worked for my wife in our Acura (awful seats) - if it works, then you at least have an idea which way to go if adding support. |

Mine too.... You know I have the leather sport seats and my lower back has been killing me also - thought it was the roller coasters I was riding but it may be the seats.... I went to a chiropractor to get cracked but always seems to be sore there..... MasterOfMyDomain undefinedundefined

I had the same problem. In the end I gave up, took the factory seats out and put Sparco seats in. Difficult for folks in the USA to do, because MNI USA won't help with the airbags. I still hate the factory seats. In fact, if there is one thing that will stop me from getting a new MINI, it'll be those awful seats. I always thought it was just me, but, it seems not. Sorry to hear others are uncomfortable... ![]() -L

Hmmm, I've had my car for 26 days, (not that I'm counting of course), and as brilliant as it is, it's killing by back (I have leather seats). I'm interested in the link below, under 'similar threads', posted by GDeschodt back in February 04. My back aches like mad when I get out. I've just done 5 days in Ireland (a mini adventure no less!) and I've been having trouble with my back ever since. Might try removing a little foam and/or release one or more of the seat support wires in the offending area... has anyone else had similar trouble and tried this 'mod'? I'd be interested to know if you have. Steve

If all else fails try getting one of those wooden beaded seat covers ala 1980s and dogey taxi fashion ![]() Ive been driving a fairly comfy focus for the last 3 years and the final year of that was very uncomfy thanks to a nasty bout of whiplash when i get hit from behind (dont be rude!). Dread to think what the mini seats are going to be like!
