urgent help

i am going to order my new mini tomorrow but am unsure about the stereo options.

i have cd/boost in my current mini and am unimpressed with the sound quality and skipping cd's considering the cost .
am i correct in thinking if i spec the car with the standard wave cassette i can exchange it for any aftermarket head units like those installed by halfords for example?

Yep you can as far as i'm aware....I went for the MD boost then changed it for an aftermarket one

What ever you do..........Dont use Halfords for the sake of your MINI go to a professional ice installer like mikey here on MINI2.

As Dinger says, dont use Halfords, as you dont want some 16 yr old ripping your car to pieces and forgetting where parts go !

Definatley go for an aftermarket head unit, but if you want real OOMPH then get the speakers changed and an amp installed. Dont go for any of the Sony stuff that you can get from the dealer either, cause one its over priced, and two its not the best stuff in the world.

You should go find a good car audio shop, like Car Audio Centre or somewhere like that. Basically a place that does show cars, cause they know what they are on about and they will do a good install for whatever you want. But steer clear of Bass Junkies, and dont go anywhere near Halfords, cause they havent got a clue.
