Just updating, from trying to translate the german forum pages... He has the first 30 boxes, and ordered 70 more. And then he said the cost was only 110 euro, less than before. So that's good news.

He posted the installation instructions. Simply pull out the inner rear seat bolts and slip the armrest legs underneath:

i've tried emailing him and sending him a pm but i've had no luck whatsoever?
i rang bmw and they have no dates whatsoever. i really wanna order 2 but can't seem to contact alex.

It is basically his dealer. Not sure how they are getting their hands on them. They are being shipped by the dealer.
He has stopped taking orders till they can get more. He doesn't respond till he can. Just be patient, and maybe post in that forum once to ask when he expects more in.

Mine is on the way. The cost was $125 shipped to the States. I think he's shipping to the people who have already paid first, regardless of where you were on the list.

can someone explain why this armrest is different than the one offered on MINIUSA? this one is FAR better. with the open top and logo on front. the one shown in the configurator and not available until 1/5 builds is, well, kinda dull. is this the ONLY way of getting them, through this german dealer?

I agree with you on the armrest. The armrest that MINI has on thier site is nice but not as functional as the new one. I'm going to call my dealer and ask the pricing and availability. I have a 05 HB S on order and want this added. I read the posts for the person that was buying and shipping from Germany but was confused on the process as he was requesting that people post to a german forum.

If you are talking about the armrest in the configurator, it pictures the MINI-FINI armrest. But it won't let you add it as it's not yet available. My guess is when they made that part of the site they did not have pictures of the this new armrest at the time, and it will be updated when it is available.

I just heard back from my MINI dealer and they quoted me a price of 220.35 for the 2005 MINI armrest. Sounds a bit high but it is a nice armrest.

I just checked with my local dealer and I'm picking one up for 110 Euros...with the current exchange rate and the additional 16% VAT that I do not have to pay, it works out to about $116. They wanted to charge an extra 20-30 euros to fit it...I laughed and said no thanks (i.e. P**s Off) ....

$116 sounds great. I called Classic MINI here in the states they will sell the 05 armrest for $156.00. I havent been able to find it cheaper anywhere else so I will probably go ahead and order one from them and install myself.
