Removing '05 Door Panels?

So today I removed my passenger side door panel in order to felt the hell out of the HK speaker because of the crazy rattle it produces. The torx screw that was easily accessible next to the arm rests on the old models is now tucked away under the arm rest cover and it gave me a fit trying to remove it. By some miracle I got it off without breaking everything, but one of the clips on the door that holds it in did snap. I couldn't believe it, my poor Mini has been suffering way too much lately and I nearly wanted to kill myself. Luckily, the clip doesn't seem to effect the arm rest at all, and if anything, it's being held more firmly in place than the one on my other door. Anyway, my question is, does anyone know how to safely remove the arm rest cover? Turns out I am still getting a bit of a rattle with extremely loud bass, so I want to have at the felt one more time. But I know if I white knuckle the hell out of that arm rest again, I could end up doing some damage that I will seriously regret. Not that I don't seriously regret the damage done already. It's amazing how something can bother you, even if you can't see it and it doesn't effect anything...

Any help is appreciated! I am going to go kill myself now, or maybe just sleep.

Damn, Paul. Thanks a million. You wouldn't believe how much I wish I knew this before prying that thing off. I even came back in and searched on here for the answer, but didn't find it. Argh.

I'm just thinking of doing some work that will involve pulling off the '04 door cards and came across that post the day before you posted your question.
