United-States Custom Steering wheels, problems?

I'm thinking of getting rid my of my stock steering wheel and putting a custom billet one on instead. Any problems that I should know of ? Suggestions of companies ? Also, would I have to kill the airbag or do you know of any shops that can accomodate an air-bag setup ? I like the Sparco quick-release setups, but not entirely sure if they're street legal etc. Any help would be great!

BTW: This would be going on a 2002 standard Cooper

ROCK ON!

Have a look here: http://forum.mini2ig.de/album_cat.php?cat_id=69 (3 pages)

YouŽll find alcantara, leather, CF and wooden steering wheels there. If this is what you are looking for you can keep your standard airbag.

We can get you these wheels to wherever you want. Prices are:
- alcantara 300,00 Euro
- leather 300,00 Euro
- mix of both 300,00 Euro
- leather or alcantara / CF (genuine) 602,00 Euro
- leather or alcantara / wood (genuine) 516,00 Euro

You can choose the colour you want for the leather/alcantara as well as for the stitching.
The prices are in exchange, so we need your standard wheel back. All prices excl. German VAT, plus shipping costs (USA 29,00 Euro by normal post). All wheels are custom made to order. So please allow 4-5 weeks for delivery plus shipping time.

Till the end of September the alcantara and leather wheels go for 258,00 Euro.

These look very nice - but I assume no option if you have the Multi Function Steering Wheel? Are they smaller than the standard mini steering wheel?

It doesnŽt matter if MFS or not. Both wheels are available. They are a bit smaller (not much) and thicker with nice thumb grips.

First you receive the new one, then you send us the old one back. Unless you can do without your MINI for 5 weeks . But that would be a first ...
