XM Direct using OEM Sirius antenna?

I have a 2005 MCS with the Sirius/FM combo antenna. I'm planning on installing XM Direct with the Blitzsafe adapter. I'd like to use the Sirius antenna.

Is this possible? If not, why not? From what I've gathered online XM uses 2332-2345 MHz, and Sirius 2320-2332 MHz. Adjacent 12.5 MHz channels. Frequency response shouldn't be a problem.

How does the Sirius unit connect to the antenna? Is the small unused connector (at least in my MINI) in the interior panel under the antenna for the antenna?

Also, if all this fails and I have to use one of the magnetic antennas, has anyone found one that works with an '05 (maybe the Blitzsafe micro antenna)? The new OEM antenna leaves very little room between it and the spoiler. My Skyfi antenna is a bit too big - it gets smashed by the spoiler.

XM antenna works with MCS 05

My dealer told me the new 05 antennas appear to have additional capabilities - like the earlier antennas with the navigation system, but he didn't offer any suggestions about how to make xm work on it. I was told by MINIUSA that the antenna wouldn't work with anything but Sirius because of the receiver wiring - ??? I have no idea, but if you figure it out, let me know. I opted to not wait and got the XM direct with Blitzsafe and the magnetic antenna does fit behind the 05 antenna - just, but it fits and doesn't move. So, instead of paying $861 for Sirius and installation - I paid less than 1/3 and have been enjoying XM for over a month. Have then figured out the chip problem with Sirius yet? I'm glad I'm not waiting on them....

United-States Model Numbers

I just took delivery of our 2005 MCS and want to install XM with the HK stereo, MFSW & factory antenna. What are the model numbers for the Blitzsafe and the XM Direct receiver? Also, what all is included in the install kit besides the XM Direct receiver & the Blitzsafe? Was the install difficult? Thanks.
