Angry icelink plus problems??

I just installed the icelink plus through the cd changer port on my '02 mini. It has many problems. First it worked for a few minutes then would die. Pull fuse, go again stop again. Then it started to sound weak while working for the 3 minutes. Now it does not work at all. Any suggestion??? before you reply you should know. NO loose wires. No need for firmware according to dension since they sent it out specifically for this unit. Even if there was, you cannot get it off the web site since they give it as streaming quicktime. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
p.s. I am new to the forum and am thrilled to be here

If it is the plus you need to do a download.
I am **** with computers and saw it as quicktime so here is what I did
Go to dension website find the stereo you have, right click on it & copy to desktop, then open i tunes & grab it from your desktop & update ipod. Then plug ipod into icelink

Black Cooper not a firmware problem

As I suspected, the icelink came with the bmw firmware ( I guess thats why they asked me what head unit and car I had when I ordered the unit) So I still have the same problem, but I did dowload the firmware and flash it to icelink. so now I have crossed firmware off of problem possibilities. The screen that the ipod sticks on is the next screen. ""bmw confi selected. please turn ignition off and on again. select cd changer"" when I do, the Head unit just says no disk. Yes I even tried disconnecting the battery to reset the unit to no avail.
Any other suggestions??

Have you got a changer in the car? It must be unplugged at the changer end

Absolutely sure. Positively sure. went through it all with Chase at Dension and he has me bringing it in to long beach to see for himself.
On my way there in about half an hour.
