Cubby hole under dash on some Minis?

I am aware of the European storage shelf which the US cars do not have. Just saw a photo of this car with what looks like the US spec but with a little cubby hole big enough for gloves, cell phones, etc. Which countries get this? Anyone fit this into a US Mini? Got part numbers?

Here's one US source. It's an easy do-it-yourself install.

That US source is for the euro shelf.
The "cubby hole" knee bolster is not available in USA. In fact, a few MINIs came into USA long ago with the part fitted and the dealers were instructed to remove the part - a couple had been sold and had to be tracked down to have the part replaced with the normal euro shelf.

The issue is simply one of testing - US MINIs were not crash tested with this part and since it might affect the results, it is not allowed over here (if you check out the MINI crash test pics, you will see paint on the knee bolster, an indication that the dummies legs touched during the crash)

Woops, sorry. I never looked at the first picture and just assumed we were talking about the euro shelf.

For completeness ...
Found the MINI Cooper front crash test info including this pic showing paint on the knee bolster:

(I wonder what the euro shelf would do in that position)
