Question central upper air vent cold air on MCS 05

Hello to all,
(sorry for lack of english, i am from Italy).
I noticed on my new MCS that the central airflow (on central-top dash) always have a drastical temperature difference compared to others airflow.
Yesterday i was oh highway...and also after one hour of driving...the top-central airflow..(that was closed)continued to give a slightly cool fresh air, totally unwanted...so i tried to open it by selecting on AC control the frontal airflow (that open also it) but i noticed that the warm air that before come to floor..now was not so warm..i had to raise the temperature from 25C to 27C (like a sahara desert) for feel something of warm.

OK seems that mini have different temperature on different location. eg. setting of 27C: floor airvent = hot like 27C
central and lateral airvent = humm.. a little less
central upper airvent = fresh
Remember.. also with central upper airvent closed..a little fresh flow run out.

On my old MC i had not this problem at all.
Is possible because MCS have the turbo hole on front that at lower external temperature (here is winter about 0 C) the air "pipes" get so cool that refresh the warm air?

Sorry if my speech sounds confused ( I am tried to explain the better possible)

I wish to know if all this is normal. i hope to compare with others MCS owners.

Thank you

I might be missing it, but I will take a stab!

Let me make sure I understand... You want heat to come through the vents, but you have a question/concern as to why there is cold air coming out the vents? So this forces you to turn up the heat even more? Do I understand you correctly?

If this is the case, you need to hit the recirculatory button the A/C control. If you have the button off, fresh air (outside air at the outside temp) will come in! If the button is turned on, the vents are closed to outside fresh air and it will only recirculate heat (or cold depending on what you want) into the cabin.

Let me know...

hummm

humm I think you understand half:
yes about I want warm air ,and i have it came out from the 4 frontal holes. But when i turn on "frontal holes opened" also upper central hole is automatically opened ..and here the temp is more more less. The air recirculation is undependent from temperature, if you choose warm air ..warm air have to come from all holes you want... (imao seems a gastroenterical speech :-) ).

Remember i already had a MC (not s) and what happens here is something strange, i dont understand if something is wrong or if on MCS is a natural behavoir.
I hope to be more clear.

PS when i turn off "frontal holes opened".. the central upper hole is closed but a little fresh air come out.
For central hole i intend the airflow on central Upper dash, upper the central speedo, yes?not the holeS below the frontal glass.

Thank! .

This sounds exactly the same as my '05 MCS with auto aircon. I have never had warm air come from the face vents - which seem to be connected to the central dash top vent. Warm air only ever comes from the footwell and the windscreen vents. I think it is designed this way to keep your face fresh and your body warm.

I always leave my system set to fully auto all of the time and could not be more pleased with the results. i just never have to touch the heater at all, other than to adjust the temperature between 19 and 21 degrees depending on my mood.

You'll also notice that on hot days, when the sun is out, more cold air comes out of the face level vents to counteract the heat of the sun - very clever.
