Upgrade my speakers and keep stock HU? - MINI2

I have the standard cd player....I like to upgrade the system, but don't want to risk the chance of loosing the MFSW and I also want to get the Ice-link plus.

If I upgrade my speakers, will the sound be better? Is it worth it?

You will get an improvement but I would recommend amping them
There are many aftermarket stereos that will work with the mfsw & the icelink & get ID tags

Can you recommend an HU? I would love to get an alpine, but in the US we are not as lucky as you guys in Europe.
