United-Kingdom BMW Mini ipod adaptor in UK?

HI,

Can anyone tell me whether the BMW ipod adaptor is out in UK ?

If so, how much is it and where can I buy it from ?

Thanks.

Alex

Not according to my dealer - Mini Park Lane.

Cheers

Paul

P.S. There is a US Site selling them online though, and installation instructions are easily available!

Hi PB,

My dealership is also Park Lane.

Do you know which U.S. site sells this adaptor ? Do you have a web address ?

Thanks.

Do you know whether I will be able to hear the ipod through the harmon kardon speakers ?

Do I need a special adaptor ?

Thanks.

Hi,

I spoke to Mini Park Lane, who are the only Mini dealer in UK owned by BMW Mini, and they told me that they are testing the official Mini Ipod adaptor (like the one in the USA) as we speak. If the testing goes well, it will be available in UK from Mini dealers soon. Mini Park Lane will keep me updated.

I emailed via the Apple site... http://www.apple.com/ipod/bmw/
to ask why it doesn't display the track names.

The first reply I had told me I could buy an aux adaptor to connect an iPod to a Mini.

So I replied, saying I was aware of the aux adaptor kit and asked again.

The second reply simply said this item is not available in the UK.

Until the kit does something more than move the play controls I really don't see the point.

I'd also like the charging function to be optional.
I only want to charge if it's nearly flat and my journey is long enough to give it a good charge,
rather than a 20 minute top up.
