dsp vol setting on hidden menu (HK)

I've got HK in my car, and was fiddling in the hidden menu on the head unit, one of the settings is DSL VOL (or similar). cranking it up and down changed the volume, not surprisingly. Does anyone know if it increases the maximum volume of the HK system which a few people have complained it too low?
