2005 Door Panel Removal

Posted this over at NAM, perhaps someone here has removed an 05...

Ok, trying to remove the interior door panel to correct the HK buzz using felt per these instructions.

First off the tweer cover apparently is different on the 05 as the screen meshing and one of the "clips" have snapped.

On too more fun...the walkthrough states the 05's have a clip which is on the armrest portion and to slide something plastic underneath it to remove it and expose the last TORX screw. Yet another piece of the walkthrough which is vague. So I have no idea how to get to this last screw, please someone that has actually dealt with an 05 save me from myself. I knew there was a reason I stopped reading "How To's" online.

Sorry I can't answer your question, but good grief, why can't they have resolved this issue at the factory by now??? For how long have people been yanking off their door panels to fix speaker rattles?

This kind of stuff really irks me.

I know people on here have removed their 05 door panels without too much fuss, hopefully someone who has can help you out.

Yes. It's vague as it's hard to describe without a photo, which I can't take because I don't have an 05. Also note that that picture shows a rusty metal tool, I would recommend using something plastic so you don't scratch things.

JW, the walkthrough was very helpful though. Perhaps you can edit your webpage to reference that link? Paul also perhaps it could become a portion of the FAQ/DIY section?

If ya need more pics I can take them using a plastic spatula...
