(assuming you do not have HK)

Your component speakers should come with a crossover - this will need to be small enough to be mounted in the door along with the speakers; then there is no wiring changes except within the door - the signal from HU now goes to the crossover instead of to the speakers, and wires from the crossover go to the components.

The thing is tho, there is no crossover in the door at the mo, there are two seperate wires, one for the tweeter and one for the main speaker. should i attatch the crossover to the end of the main speaker wire or what

I hope Mikey clarifies it all for you ... my belief is that for non-HK systems it is the same two wires that come in to the door, then go to both speaker positions. I think there is a small filter (a capacitor) at the tweeter location.

Anyway, you would use the wires going to the bigger speaker.

NOTE: if you have HK, none of this applies!

Don't know where it gone - Ian got it spot on.
Use one of those wiring adaptors you got from me on the wire that went to the factory mid range, run this to the input on your crossover. Then use fresh cable from the crossover to the new mid & tweeter. I mount the crossover next to the mid
Let me see if I have a pic
