BMW video module install pictures - MINI Cooper Forum

I purchased a BMW Video module and loom from newministuff.co.uk and here are some pictures of the install and results. Put a DVD player under the passenger seat - just cut out a square of carpet and part of the foam and it fits like a glove

There was interference on the screen until I earthed the video module to the car (thanks for the tip mike!)

that's not it - I have a BMW Video Module as used in the 3 series, for example. It has a TV tuner built in and integrates seamlessly into the Nav System and audio system.

it's dead easy to fit - just plug it in basically!

The one you've linked to above is an aftermarket thing that doesn't integrate like the video module from what I've seen - mikeythemini could probably explain the differences better

the newministuff website has changed and it's not there anymore

Have since purchased a 4 way Diversity Clarion antenna with booster.

Only tricky part was solved quite easily (very lucky in this case) when I phoned my service guy at the local MINI Garage asking for some of the plugs that are used to connect the aerial to the BMW video module. He called back 20 mins later and said he had a pair with the attached coax sitting on his desk waiting for me

I soldered female 3.5mm headphone style jacks (mono) to the other end of the coax he gave me, and just plugged the Clarion antenna straight in! Superb!

I'll post pics and model numbers on the weekend when I finalise the install, but I'm very impressed with it so far!

Will ask and see what I can find out, but they actually moved to a new workshop, and while packing up to move, they had a whole loom that they didn't want to keep, so cut all the plugs off it and kept them and threw the rest in the bin, and that's where my plugs came from.

Will try and post a pic or two of the adaptor I made up when I get home later tonight.

Yes but the price ain't so good as the importer I used has gone .
Will put it back on the site tomorrow when back in work
