Aftermarket Phone linked to MFSW, phone book on stereo & nav screens - MINI Cooper Forum

Managed to borrow a Mini with the extra buttons on the wheel this morning (RT & another one) Will be testing MFSW adaptors with it, but I have an idea for something special - will post back hopefully by luchtime if all goes well

The great news is that I have managed to link a nokia mobile phone via a hands free kit, through the MFSW & get the phone book on the stereo & nav

When I spotted the phone buttons on my 05 MCS MFSW I thought maybe they'd added it by mistake, so I said nothing about it to the dealer incase they wanted more money for it.

Looks like i don't need to get my hands on a bluetooth phone to test if it works as its standard on all MFSW's now i guess.

IT WORKS

The car is new with the extra buttons on the wheel.
I have managed to integrate an aftermarket phone kit into the car.
Features; normal charging radio muting & call through the car speakers that you get with my other interfaces

But Now - You can switch into phone mode from the wheel - then using the track up/down buttons on the wheel scroll through the phone book - which is displayed on the stereo screen & sat nav screen then press the call button on the wheel to make/end the call

Also when some one rings you their name or number comes up in the radio/nav screen.

Gonna do more testing this afternoon to try various phones/kits & get photos

Mikey, I have an SPV C500 and I noticed about 5 other MINI owners with them at the Charity ball so I'm sure I can pop up sometime and you can test it with my phone

Here it is working.
This was using a Nokia 5110 phone with cark91 hands free kit.
From the wheel you can select phone then scroll through your phone book (on stereo screen & nav screen) make and end the call & adjust the volume.
If someone rings you the screen autoswitches & shows their number or name
