England After Fitting JCW seats....

What can i expect to pay to get my dealership to request and input the 'coding'
that tells the cars computer that the seats have no air bag's?

(IE De-activating the seats air bags code)

If I recall, some people have had it done for free when it's been serviced, other have maybe paid £35 quid for 15 minutes labour or whatever the costs are. Your dealer should tell you an estimate, and it's not going to be longer than half an hour I'm sure!!

BTW I don't have JCW seats so I can't be 100%

Yes about £35-£45 pounds, first the stealer will get you to sign a disclaimer, they then have to request a vehicle specific code from BMW, this code is only valid for 48hrs.

It takes a few minutes to do, but you will normally be charged for it, but there is also a hardware way to fool the system, and this was in GoMINI magazine if I remember correctly or might be on the site somewhere, so have a search for that

Cheers Guys, got the disclaimer through the post this morning. Signed
and then took into dealership, as long as they are not gonna charge me an hours labour for a 20min job then i'm happy.

Rakey... I'll check the hardware thingy now, cheers mate.

10/10 for ride quailty Rakey mate, took the car out for a 30 min blast last night and
really was impressed. Support your back nicely and 'bolster' you in position.
Just gotta get my bag light turned off at BM now.

As for the price Kitsang?
That would be telling, i will say they are not cheap. BUT in all fairness to John Cooper
they have produced some dam comfy seats and they look the mutts nutts.

Some people may question 'its only cos its got a JCW badge on' but all i can say is
sit in these seats and you'll be convinced its not about the badge, (unless your a BIG lad)

you can get them in pretty much all of the standard seat colours...though some of them are special order.

your dealer should be happy to quote you on a pair....or if you wanted to could get the rear JCW seats too!

Help - Deactivating airbags

HELP ! !

I have been quoted £200 - £300 to deactivate side airbags by Main BMW Dealer in Edinburgh today.

Am driving down to Leicester on 8th April, will be there for a week.

Anyone know a dealer nearby where I can get it done for the £35 - £45 that other people seem to be able to get it for.

would be really grateful for any help

Paul
