Off button???????

http://www.motoringfile.com/

See the picture of the AC unit under the Dension Ice Link Review? It has an off button next to auto. Anyone else have a car with this? To turn mine off I need it hit the fan button to the right downwards a few times.

I've got one.

Not sure when they changed it, but there was a point where they revised the Auto A/C buttons and removed the OFF button.

I haven't owned one with the new configuration, so maybe someone who's owned both can comment on the pros and cons.

I hit the OFF button everytime I get out of the car then click the temp dial to return to the previous setup when I return.

This changed for 2005 model year ... on older cars you have to press and hold the windshield symbol to get normal fan speed air up to that direction - a quick press gave you "superblast defrost" mode.
Now with the new design you have separate buttons for "super defrost" and "normal blow in that direction" which is better - but they had to sacrifice another function somewhere and I guess they figured "off" was the way to go.

Of course if you buy auto a/c and it's so great why would you ever want to turn it off

Never turn mine off; it goes off when the key is out and on when I put the key in the ignition.

I like the way the defrost works on 02-04 cars too... After getting used to the way it operates, it's pretty easy to set it...

Mine never goes off too! But I usually never drive on A/C because I find the car feels different...

Why bother to turn it 'off' and then back 'on' again? Pining for the manual a/c?

Because it's easy and because I'm an old F@rt who doesn't feel comfortable leaving things on when he turns his car off
