Motorola V3 Bluetooth Compatibility + SatNav Q's Hello, Just taken delivery of a new Cooper S with Bluetooth armrest and SatNav amongst other options. I assumed that the Mini bluetooth would have the same phone compatibility as the bluetooth fitted to BMWs and therefore chose a new Motorola V3 to use with the car. Everytime I try and pair with the car it connects then disconnects almost instantly. Has anyone managed to get a V3 Razor to pair with their mini??? Any tips??? Also I noticed that the TMC function on the Nav does not work if you listen to the radio. Is this just down to the unit only having one tuner unlike the BMW with SatNav I had last??? Finally the SatNav tells you how long to get to the destination not the actual time of arrival, again unlike the BMW Nav. Any option to change this ?Thanks, MJS1972 |

stevePSB posted compatibility here: http://www.mini2.com/forum/first-generation-interior-ice/84530-bluetooth-preperation-compatibilty-news.html the V3 is not on it! Obviously your mini salesperson should have warned you about compatibility issues! I think there are two phones on the list that are currently manufactured (rather than refurbished) BMW have recently expanded compatibility but are notorious for this problem I don't think sat nav "knows" the time so cannot tell time of arrival Boost CD is a single tuner so unless you tune to Classsic FM or play CD's etc TMC will not work (Z4 has the same problem). Other BMW's have twin tuner

Thanks for the speedy responses. I suspected there was no time recognition on the SatNav as the display never shows the time unlike the BMW. A shame about the tuner, seems like an oversight to me!! I thought the V3 phone would work because I'd noticed that others had been able to use it on various BMWs, As confirmed by Aiden. I asumed the Mini and BMW system were the same as the look and feel certainly is. Has anyone managed it on a Mini yet? I realise it's not on the Mini approved list but I don't think it's on the BMW list either......they seem to take so long to test out new phones. Mikey, can you install phones kits which integrate with the MFSW, SatNav screen and Voice Control whilst at the same time having blue tooth installed? If so I'd be interested. Thanks.

HI, I had a V3 till a few days (stolen) but it worked in my MCSC with sat nav and factory bluetooth... Like the samsung, I didn't have access to de phonedirectory or SMS but top 8 numbers, call, answer and hangup worked great.... Sebastien

According to http://www.bmw.co.uk/bluetooth/ the V3 should give you access to the phone book, anyone got this working? What about SMS? Otherwise it's looking like I'll be using a 6310 :\
