Retro fit Cruise control????????????

Hi guys,

Just a quick question whether i can retro fit cruise control to my MCS and whether I could do it my self.

I have only had my car for a few weeks and after having a car with it before I really miss it on the motorway.

Cheers BRGNICK

You can get the MFSW from BMW/MINI to enable cruise control, but it's pretty pricey (can't remember how much exactly but somewhere upwards of £500 I think). That probably doesn't include fitting either and I don't think you can fit it yourself as BMW have to fiddle with the software etc

I looked into this for retro-fitting to a 3 series and decided it wasn't worth it in the end. MINI's aren't for crusing anyway!!!

Yup its possibe. MFSW's (Multi Function Steering Wheel) are available from the dealer for £360 (they go for around £100 at the most on ebay), once you get your hands on one, all you need is a wiring loom from the dealer, not sure of the price of them but can see it being amazingly expensive. It's all simple anough to stick on yourself, theres plenty of "How To's" about to help you. once you get it all on you'll need it programmed by the dealer, they'l do this for free depending how nice they are and should only take 10 mins.

Do all that and Wa-la, u got cruz control And extra handy radio controls

it aint that simple
you need a full wiring loom switches need to be fitted to the clutch and cables run out to the ECU the steering wheel and slip ring behind it need to be changed and cables to the BC1 module for the radio also it needs to be fully programmed with the DIS/MoDIC software only by the dealer
so id say go to the dealer and have it fitted if you want it that bad
