Boost CD Firmware upgrade?

Does anyone know if Alpine intend to issue a firmware upgrade to allow the CD player to play other compression formats, like wma's?

I am guessing there is some way to put software upgrades into the player via the CD player, if it has the right software on it, and I reckon it is a shame that I have to re-burn my entire wma copied CD collection to mp3 as well.

My boost cd will play wma's (except lossless). I haven't tried protected content. A firmware upgrade that shows ID3 tag info (which apparently is possible) would be cool

more information please

What bit rate have you ripped you wma files at. I tried 96bps, but the player doesn't seem to recognise them (that's what my CD colleciton is ripped onto my PC at)

And yes, I couldn't agree more that a cylcing of the ID3 tag info on the player would be Uber Cool.

I posted on this subject soon after I got my car in July 04-and can't find the post! I'll have another look.

From July 23rd 2004:

new cd player plays wma's and vbr

Made a data cdr consisting of

WMA (windows media player 9)
WMA (vbr)
WMA (lossless)

MP3 (real jukebox)
MP3 160bps (itunes)
MP3 192bps (itunes)

All played with exception of "lossless"

I would experiment with a CDRW or a CDR and put WMA's of different bit rates on the disc and see what plays. Remember to finalise the disc of course.

Cheers

Ah - I don't think I closed out the session - the player recognised a new disk I burned last night with ease.

Now I just need a piece of software to add the IDTag track number to tha start of each track, so my albums play in order!

Thanks for the replies guys.
I love my Mini :-)
