Once you use an iPod or any other MP3 player, your cd changer will sit unused for the rest of its life. No need for it really.

I just tried my cd changer in my Auid A4 this weekend for the first time in over a year. Guess what, it is broken. Did not even know it. I was testing it since I am planning on selling it soon. Oh well. Hope the buyer has an MP3 player too.

The BMW Ipod interface takes the place of the CD changer and uses the changer connection socket on the back of the head unit. You can install the Aux input and use that for your Ipod while still keeping the CD changer.
