Clock Stopped?

Has anyone had this happen? I headed out Friday night down to Richmond and my clock said 8:19pm. About an hour later I glance over to check the time and say to myself "I'm making great time!" because the clock still said 8:19pm! Duh. I even checked my wristwatch to be sure. It was actually after 9:00pm.

I pressed the button to change the clock to the trip odometer and back, hoping that would reset it - it didn't. About an hour later (around 10:00pm) we stopped and got out of the car. When I turned it back on about 10 minutes later, the clock had the correct time and started working properly again.

Anyone ever have this happen? My MINI is less than 3 weeks old and has less than 1,000 miles on it!

Wow, that is really, really strange because it might have been! I know I hit 1,000 miles on my way back (had to wake up the boyfriend to point it out to him!). I'm kicking myself that I didn't notice!

This is scary. I was heading back from Myrtle Beach (on a Thursday 2 weeks ago) and the clock stopped at 8:17 PM. I drove most of the day and too didn't notice the 3 times I looked down. I said you my wife "Man it sure is dark for 8:17". It was actually 10:30 when I realized (Yea, we had a good laugh too). Tthe next morning it was like nothing ever went wrong.

Stopped clocks must be a feature

So I was driving to work yesterday, and I left at 9:38. After I while I was thinking, gosh, the traffic must be moving really well today: it's only 9:52. Five minutes later I Iooked again and it was still 9:52. And a few minutes later it was still 9:52. At the next convenient red light I advanced the clock to the correct time of 10:12, where it remained resolutely for the remainder of my journey.

Evening and time to go home. I know it is 9:30 pm but my clock reads 9:50 (by a stunningly marvellous coincidence, the same number of minutes I had advanced it in the morning). I correct it. It works properly all the way home.

Clocks programmed by Microsoft perhaps? Aliens?

there is a fault with some of the early facelift cars concerning the time clock, it either stops or runs fast or cannot be set!

Its down to the crystal used, a PUMA has been issued and it requires the whole speedo being replaced!

This exact this happened to me last evening. Clock stopped at 5:09, I reset it and it just wouldn't increment. Stopped the car, when I got back in and restarted it was fine.

But I have an early '05, so maybe this is the problem Lucky Dave mentions. I'm going in for inspection #2 on Friday, so I'll have to mention it.
