Putting a flat screen in my sun visor...

I was watching "Pimp My Ride" last week - yes I know, I'm sad, whatever - and in amongst all the fishbowls and 40" plasma TV installations was something I really quite liked... a flat screen monitor in the (passenger) sun visor.

I would really like to try this out, so it would be great to hear from anyone who's put a screen/monitor/PS2/fish tank in their Mini. How easy is it to wire something like this up, and post some pictures if you can.

Also, has anybody done anything with the standard satnav screen, like putting in a feed from a PC or an mp3 player or whatever?

All we need now is XZibit to come along and put 24" alloy wheels on it and paint it raspberry metallic. That would be "sick" or whatever the kids are saying these days.

Good discovery, Luke - thanks!!

I think I would cannibalise the parts from these and put the monitors into some genuine Mini visors for that "could be factory fitted" look.

Excellent, lastblink182fan - looking forward to the pics.

PS the way I drive is usually enough to make all my passengers sick anyway. The TV might just take their minds off the journey...!!

Thanks for bringing this up -- I'd never heard of sun visor displays until then. I'm very inteested in seeing pics too. I might get a clip-on monitor if cutting one into the visor is too much trouble.

I particularly like that I can evaluate composite output from my Mac mini to the display before making any major changes to my beloved MINI.
