How to close wind deflector....

Hi guys n girls, got a wind deflector from ebay yesterday in the post and I opened it up but I can't work out how to close it! It didn't come with any instructions so I was hoping that someone could help me out. I can't get the bit which clicks on to come off again? Is there a button or method I need to use?

Any help would be much appreciated, thanks in advance!

its tricky to explain with just words, but I'll have a go

the parts of the deflector that pull out to lock into the body, these also push back to remove it from the car. One of these, only one, will also push further inwards (pulling away from the deflector will allow this), this will then release the top section from the bottom.

Have another look and see if you can see the difference in both side, as on one side the top section is secured and you should see a screw that is not on the other side, this is the side that will detach from the bottom.

What a life saver. I almost destroy my brand new wind deflector trying to put it back. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Rakey...
The fact that only one side does the trick is not obvious in the instructions...I searched this forum, and voila - your post came up, and after 15 minutes of fruitless finagling, being scared to death to break this inanely expensive device, I got going in seconds.

Happy motoring!

wind deflector? Who needs one of those?

Yes - it gets a bit breezy - just put the top up if it gets too windy for you

I had three passengers in my MINI at the weekend, 20 minutes at 70mph(ish) and the poor girl in the front did look like Bridget Jones after her sports car ride.

Definately can say a deflectorless MINI adds volume to your hair without chemicals

Brilliant - yes but it doesn't add volume in a good way, more like a dragged-through-a-hedge-backwards way

I wouldn't be without my wind deflector, best £145 ever spent.
