Wind deflector

Hello All,

Just picked up my new wind deflector from local Mini dealer after three week wait.
The deflector is fine and works great but I was wondering does anyone know what the strange deisgn of the straps on the bag is for? Is it meant to fit somewhere in the car that I'm not getting?
The dealer told me the straps were just for carrying but they seem too complicated for just that.

Cheers Mark

I also could not figure out how the straps were meant to be used -- and I'm an engineer.

For one thing, just how much does anyone expect to carry around a wind deflector? A simple handle sewn onto the side of the case would have been sufficient. Perhaps they made such an elaborate case and carrying straps to try to justify the very high price. Or they had priced the wind deflector so high that they thought everyone would pack it up and carry it away with them whenever they leave the car!

just noticed some pockets on the inside of the bag too - i think this might well be a case of over engineering for profit!!
hopefully someone can prove me wrong!

I understand the bacg can be used as a "carry-all", independant of the wind deflector. this froma previous thread.

"Do you realise that when it is empty, the case becomes a bag for you to carry around!
If you split the large plastic clips you then have a shoulder strap."

Its over engineered and over priced
Although mine came with one, when i opened the boot, the bag was there, but mysteriously the deflector wasn't, it was AWOL
But only took three days for a new one to arrive, think i was kinda lucky
I so wouldn't be without mine now, a real must have .

I would - it's a bloody pain to have to keep taking it in and out. I only got it so that she who must be obeyed wouldn't get her hair ruffled

My thoughts, not that they matter, are that if you need a wind deflector - you ought to have purchased a hardtop with a sunroof. Convertible, rushing wind, limited conversation, hair messed up - it's the total Cabrio experience.

Not at all... a sunroof gives you limited fresh air, with a deflector, its more comfortable, im not constantly looking in the mirror to check my hair, a completely difference experience, and IMHO a whole lot better

At last .

And to all those who use theirs on a regular basis (that's everyone except for me and Neilgj)
