Probably been asked but couldn't find it. Anyone have ideas when the next gen of convertible is going to be released?

Spoke to a dealer here and they are looking at Nov 2008 (apr 2009 here) for a release date.
"As the desigh is only 3 years old!" Urm new cabrio would be good a bit sooner!

The new softop I believe will be the 2009 model year - so launched late in 2008...

i was told the same thing, it will be 2 years from jan of this year so we're talking another 2 years yet!

i keep saying this though and people think it means i'm jealous of the new shape, but i just don't like it!

i know that (ok in my opinion) my convertible is a better looking car than the new shape mini! i only find it looks good when it is an S with Aero, so if in 2 years i want another mini cabrio and the shape has grown on me, it'll still have to have the aero on it!

Although we do not know when the new version of the Convertibles will be released, there is some bad news.
Following on BMW-MINI's decision to give the MINI Clubman an additonal rear access "suicide door" on only ONE side of the car - the Right Hand Side of the Car because QUOTE " the majority of the markets for the MINI are LHD countries"...
The New MINI Convertibles will have a Roof which DOES NOT OPEN because BMW have realised that it RAINS in majority of the markets in which they sell the convertibles.
