Roof opening

HI, just noticed today that when opening the roof the front windows only open about a third of the way down. The rear windows open all the way down. I then have to open the front ones manually. When I first had the car I thought that all the windows opened fully when opening the roof. Can anyone tell me which is the correct sequence?

Yeah, that's normal if you're just using the roof button. If you keep the button held down, all the windows will actually go back UP!

What I usually do is press (don't hold) the windows-down button once and then lower the roof (by which time all four windows will have lowered completely)

Yep best method I've found to achieve full open top motoring is this...

With your left index finger, press and hold the roof open button, this will begin the sunroof opening, at the same time, tap the windows down button with your left thumb. By the time the sunroof is open, the front windows are on their way down.

When the sunroof is open, release and repress the roof down button to lower the hood.

Saves waiting for the windows

How come you're able to open the roof at all??? I think I would be driving round in a swimming pool if I'd put the roof down over the past few days... will the rain ever stop?!

Our car was spotted steaming yesterday... it was sat outside in a downpour, but it was also quite warm - so I guess the black roof absorbed the heat, then the cold rain did it stuff and so it was simmering. As it seems were you last night!

Dodge the rain, heated seats on and heaters on full. Only had it 5 days so roof is down at every available opportunity

if u hold the open button on the key fob the windows go down and sunroof opens then if u press and hold again n wait the roof goes down n windows stay down, but if u want all windows up press the window up button and they all go up! wen i first had my convert i thought that button only was for the back windows but if u keep it held down they all go up!

That would be impossible on my car! There is a gap of about 3 feet between the "open roof" button which is above the rear view mirror and the "open window" button which is below the radio! How large are your hands?

Doesn't this mean the open roof button on one side of the rear-view mirror and the open windows button on the right-hand side of the mirror (rather than the window toggle switches which would, of course, requre something more substantial than your average MINI-sized hand.

Ah I see now. The thumb will be on the switches which activate the rear quarter windows.
