buying a new cooper s convertible

Hi Everyone.

I have been following the forums for a while and am just about ready to buy my fisrt mini- hopefully a cooper s convertible.

Just looking for answers to couple of questions- I am trying to decide which year to buy- are there any differences between a 2005 and a 2008 model ( I am not going to be able to afford the new 2009 model).

Also ihave only been able to test drive a manual which I absolutely loved- most of the options that are around at present are automatics- I am not able to get hold of one to test drive as they are at the other end of the country- how much fun is the automatic to drive- is it a compromise!

Just make sure you have a read about roof issues on convertibles, especially the earlier models, so you are not going into ownership blind

Yeh.... I'm hopefully gonna trade my Cooper Hardtop in this year on a Cooper S Convertible.... I'm thinkin' that maybe 2006 model car would be good... more in my price range and yeh... Its hard tryin' to find exactly what you want... Some cars have more k's than others and some have had a hard life....hard tryin' to weed out the bad from the good
