Steam cleaning fabric roof?

Hi all,

Does any know/has anyone tried to steam clean the convertible roof? I was thinking of doing that, particularly from the outside but maybe also on the inside (where I have water stains, it may get them off). I'm just worried about the immense heat having any effect on the fabric or internal bits.

Any thoughts welcome.

I wouldnt go anywhere near the roof with a steam cleaner, would probably remove all the water repelancy & you will end up with a very wet interior, better idea to use a proper soft top cleaner, Autoglym or Renovo.

Hi dunk, thanks for the advice, a little too late though - I actually went over the roof with the steam cleaner over the weekend. I did it very quickly, didn't linger on any particular spot. It was good at getting rid of bird poo etc. I also have soft top cleaner which I will use another weekend

I bought the 303 stuff in a pack, the cleaner and the scotchguard treatment.. it came up like new!

I have a hot water pressure washer.

If you're careful with it, it makes the roof come up like new.
