how do you fit a new complete convertible roof

Hi, i have just joined your forum and as a new bmw mini cooper convertible owner 54 plate I am after some advice. The convertible roof has stopped working when i press the button the fabric moves back slightly but the front of the roof will not separate from the top of the windscreen. BMW have checked it & say that it requires a new front section ( sunroof section ) at a cost of 1100 pounds just for the sealed front unit.
I have managed to purchase a complete conv roof secondhand and I am wondering how to fit it. Any advice is welcomed as to how to rectify the initial vproblem or how easy is cit to fit the complete roof.

Has anyone had similar problems as this seems to be a fault.

Hi Colin,

I'd recommend you move your post to the 1st gen convertible section, as someone there is more likely to be able to help you. I have a convertible but I'm afraid I don't have any answers for you...
