| Trunk Release Clicking My mini's (2004 Cooper S Convertible) boot recently came open whilst driving. I found that the trunk release motor had wound out and jammed the release mechanism open. On investigation I opened the drive motor which was partially seized and the plastic gearing melted/worn. It would not work at all. I bought a new one and when fitted it appears to work fine except every time I turn the ignition on or start the engine I can hear a clicking noise for 3-4 seconds from the drive motor as if it's starting to drive or trying to drive in the opposite direction. Has anyone any ideas what this might be and the cause of it. Thought maybe the diode but this tests ok and when disconnected completely appears to make no difference. Here is a link to the wiring diagram I am using: |
