Cabrio Delay????

I have spoken to a couple of dealers today, and they have informed me that the first MINI One Cabrios will not be available until August. Can anyone shed any light on this??

I've not heard that one. I was under the impression that the One and Cooper were available from launch in June with the MCS to follow shortly after.

News to me, but quite possible I suppose if Cooper's are selling well, it's going to be a complicated time at the factory for sure. I'll see what I can find out.

Production builds do'nt start until end June, so that would be about right for those who want to order now.
There is a sizeble order bank already even though spec's and so on are not released.
Look for a post by Poppet in the Cabrio thread, deposit paid, and the car is up for grabs.

Does this mean the earliest you could order the new Cooper will be June or would you be able to from about April onwards to get the new one in June?

You can order now, and join the list, but as specs are not yet released, you cannot actually decide too much about what the car will have, therefore you take a risk on the price if you say you want.
For example:
Sat Nav
ASC/DSC
16" wheels
Met paint
Leather
Chrome Interior pack
Body colour interior finishers
Visibility pack
Auto AirCon
PDC
Chilli Pack
I'd guess that prices for options will be close to that of the hard top, but the price of the Cabrio is not yet settled. Say an equivalent 'S' hardtop was £18.5K, its probabale that you wo'nt see any change of £21k
But nobody knows anything yet for sure.
If you did order now, you would probably get the car mid to late August, but allocations are being filled fast we hear.

I know the thread was about the cabrio, but I was wondering when I would be able to order the new Cooper?

Ouch £2.5k premium for a canvas roof. Seems a lot but i bet they sell like hot cakes.

I think the facelifted hard tops are being built from July onwards. My dealer wouldn't confirm a facelift, but did say he could not put builds onto the computer after June

So July is when you could first order the facelift or would you be able to order before July for a July delivery?
