Thats what i tought about too... you really have to be a convertible fan. when you can live with the sunroof which is really big in a cooper S - take the Cooper S. I personally think the Convertible gives you the ultimate feel of freedom...and enjoying that you want to cruise fast but donīt drive like you normally do in an S. I live in a town where you canīt use the Power of an S because its impossible to drive fast - you have to reach 4000rpm before the Compressor starts to work. So i prefer the Convertible. If i want to have Fun sometimes outside the City the Cooper has enough Power to satisfy me when iīm fast switching down gears. Another thing is - i like the Exhaust Sound of the Cooper much more than the High Compressor Tone of the S.

what car The cooper and cooper S are really completely different cars. The S is an absolute scream to drive especiallly in works form. It really is an outrageously fast go cart-but it likes revs. The resale on the cooper convertible will be fantastic because my local dealer has closed it's waiting list at 30 cars and the press reaction has been good. So buy a convertible for the summer and wait for the BMW (rather than chrysler neon) engined saloon car to come out next year -you just can't lose. Hopefully you'll have got the convertible thing out of your system by then. (I'm not selling my 204bhp Golf V6 4motion for the convertible though (I'm having both)-horses (bhp) for courses!)

The cabrio in 'S' form will be amazing I think, but until then the Coop will have to do. Its going to be a very special summer I think

Good question, mini mad! ![]() I do hope that's the case! Q: anyone heard/seen the residuals on MINI's topless new pup? Seems most will not get their feet on the pedals until summer's nearly over. ![]() Q: Is this about right, all? => Seems the price-point is a bit off. The MINI Cabrio doesn't really offer the times of yore bits of warm-fuzzies the original Mini had, does it? & it's itty-bitty-boot offers much less function. Fab for a couple's vacation home on sunny shores, but everyday? Still,- even so, tempting! ![]() Lucy

I had to make the choice with Ģ20k to spend. Decided to go for Cooper Cabrio with most of the toys. It's too difficult to find somewhere safe enough to do the S any justice. Too many cameras and speed traps. I thought I'd go for all out fun - Open Top Mini.
