Cooper or Cooper S Cab?

Both are available in January, but I don't know which one to get? I was considering the Cooper with Chilli, Air con and 17" wheels. If you spec the S up and Chilli with the same options, the totals are £1700 difference

Cooper £14625
with Chilli £1300
Manual Air con £630
17" (upgrade) £370
ASC+T £100
Xenon £370
£17395

Cooper S £17595
with Chilli £1500
£19095

Regards

My original Cooper Cab order was 20k, Changed to a 22k S Cab - if you can afford it and the insurance then do it. More power = More fun!! and you get to have Hyperblue.

Red Cooper Cooper Vs Cooper S

That's interesting. Looking at your photos you appear to have had both the Cooper and the Cooper S. Am I right, or have I misunderstood?

You are now wondering if you should go for either the Cooper or Cooper S Cab. Having owned both I would have imagined that you might have had a strong preference already.

I am the owner of a standard Cooper (for only 2 weeks) and am curious to know how you think they compared with each other and why you would consider going back to a Cooper.

Cheers

Tigger

The problem with the Cooper Cab(according to the reviews so far) is that it lacks a wee bit of power to shift the extra 100kg Cabrio weight around. We won't know for sure untill the 26th when us mere mortals can have a go.

EASY; if you can afford all the extra costs, Cooper S. I could not, Cooper only but quite good spec.

TOP OFF AT LAST. (Everybody be cool, you, be cool.)

Talking

Funny this I had the same problem cooper or Cooper S - and the spec of your Cooper was the spit image of mine, but today I rang my dealer due to the fact I was becoming depressed that the electric blus s would be going soon and that I would not have the performance grin much longer and to my delight was told that i could convert my Cooper Conv delivery of August 2nd to a Cooper S delivery for the very same day (will defer to sept 1st) - 54 plate now thats amazing - due to a spare car being around!!! how lucky can you get. So I have speced Cool blue with Chille pack and am now over the moon, its worth the extra cash, I have come to the conclusion cooper is a bit girly and everyone will have one.

Any way good luck with the decision.

I agree with you, the cooper conv could be a bit girly, the blokes conv will be the S. You've made my mind up now, I'm cancelling my September cooper conv and going for an S - sometime next year. By the way when I mentioned to my delaer what I was thinking of doing he suggested getting into a MCS hardtop now, whilst waiting for the S CAB, but I'm a bit worried about the depreciation hit, anyone any adivce, trade in values after 1 year etc...?

I am a 100% straight bloke and have gone for a Cooper Conv. in Cool Blue!!... but, I am young, and could not afford the insurance on an 'S'.....

I have always thought though that younger men can drive girlie cars and get away with it!

Just my tuppence worth

a) once one has driven an S I don't see how they could drive a Cooper. Plus, I have a reduction pulley. End of THAT discussion!

b) I'm 47, 4 kids and married 25 years this summer. Girlie car? I'd challenge the ricer who says that to a run off the line.

Life is short. Go for what you want, find a way to make it work and forget what others think.

It wouldn't be the first time I've been confused!

There was an article in Yahoo yesterday about a lady who spent something like L10k to paint her MINI pink. Don't ask me why a paint job cost so much.

Anyway, my opinion is, if one drives a car that doesn't look like everything else on the road (at least not here in America) why not go loud? I don't think it's a gender thing. I think it's a personality thing. Personally, I don't see anything efeminate about electric blue. But, as I mentioned earlier, I have 4 kids. What the hell do I know
