United-States Going to order/get on list to order an MCSC

I am finally going sometime this weekend to order or at least get on the list to order an MCSC. Just wanted to know what others in the US have gotten as far as a waiting estimate. I am anticipating a few months....probably won't have it till November or December. Is this a good estimate?

Are there any other questions I should be asking when I go to the dealership?
Thanks in advance.

RIP Boo

hmm

I'm probably wrong but I'm assuming if a car is ordered like tomorrow from any dealership for a convertible your not going to have it till late Nov or Dec. Though I could be wrong. But my order was placed 2 1/2 weeks ago and its not suppose to be here till around early November so they say.

And the MINI you ordered was a convertible? I know that the dealerships are limited on the number they can order per month (or at least that is the impression I got). I know I have a long wait ahead of me, and am just trying to get a feel for what seems like a reasonable wait.
In all honesty the longer I wait the more money I can save, which means I can buy this MINI rather then lease it. I'd rather buy this time around as I drive way too much for the mileage allowance on a lease.

My original order was input Saturday August 21st. I just found out that my MCSC is scheduled for completion October 8th.

Now...mind you...I've been on the wait list forever. I'm like 7th in a very long line. This is in Denver at a MSRP dealer. Other dealers will have different wait times. Those selling over MSRP will be shorter...different parts of the country will be shorter...you get the idea.

Do you have your order spec worked out?

United-States the wait time is killing me!

I ordered my MCC on Aug 28 and was told Oct 19 for delivery date.
When I spoke with Ask Mini, they said I am not going into production
until Oct 4, so I think I'd be lucky if it arrived by Oct 19. It seems that
the boats are going into Charleston and NYC, is that correct? Hopefully
mine will come via Charleston as I live in Atlanta.

When you talk about MSRP, you're saying that you are getting the car
purely for sticker price + tax + tags + title? I was charged MSRP, tax,
tags, title and $600 prep charge and $400 documentation fee. Am I getting
ripped off??

Thanks for your help!

My dealer - Ralph Schomp in Denver charges MSRP...no dealer charges...no premium markup.

You didn't get ripped off...you bought from your dealer knowing up front what the costs were. Some dealers are marking Cabrio's up way over MSRP. That's their right. It's your right to say no and go elsewhere. I don't think a dealer is screwing you by charging handling or prep costs...as long as you know it and agree to it. We're very very fortunate that Schomp is the MINI dealer here.

Now I do think they were being less than honest telling you you'd have a car October 19th from August 28th...going into production the 4th - they say it takes 5 days to completion...the 9th is a Saturday...do they work on Saturday?...then it has to go to port and await transport...Wallenius usually takes 15 days from Southampton to Galveston...but you're Charleston so back off a couple days...then to the prep center ...doesn't seem right.

However...does all this arglebargle really matter.....???? You're getting a Convertible!!!...this year!!!

Let's focus on the good things

What a documenation fee? My dealer only charged me a 599 prep fee which includes, Floor Mats, detailing twice a year for three years and paint sealant twice a year for three years. Now I dunno what the detailing and sealant runs normally but seems fine to me as long as I know Im getting something out of it. Though driving 100 miles twice a year for that might suck but will see what happens.

It's free maintanance for 3 years/36K miles, which ever comes first. It only works out to be three oil changes if you're lucky, because the oil is only changed after 10k for the first one and 15k each additional.

Thanks for all the input and feedback

I can almost guarantee your weather in Atlanta will be nicer than our weather in Denver!

First oil change at 15k? Does the mini use synthetic ? I'm used to an oil change every 3 to 4 thousand miles.

You asked for it:

Black Leatherette
Anthracite or Alloy Patina Dash
White tail lamps & directionals
Wind deflector
17 inch wheels (not exactly sure which ones)
Ipod your MINI (BMW) set up
