ASTRO BLACK or is it ASTRO BLUE???????

ok. just picked up the cabby this weekend. Astro Black. Since I had a Cosmos Black Cooper thought a slight change might be nice. Cept when I saw her in the workshop she looked BLUE!!!! Under certain light especially late evening she is a Deep Blue and other time she lookes a dark greyish black. I was expectimg a metallic black like the Ka etc. I love the colour but the deepness of the black hood shows the tonal difference. Imagine a deep deep deep midnight blue..........

Has anyone else been surprised by the shade of the Astro Black?

My first thoughts when saw her was Christ! Ive got the wrong colour.

My wife who has a Cool Blue Cabby love the colour more than hers!

it' s really hard to show the colour difference. But as an ex- Cosmos Black- I can see the differnce in the two Blacks . had i not been a black owner I don't think I'd be too bothered.....

Picked up my new Astro Black Cooper on Thursday night.... I don't know how I managed it, as where I live every fifth car you see is a MINI, but until I saw my car I hadn't seen another AB MINI, so I didn't know what to expect. You're right, it's a fab colour, definitely the right choice, but on mine it does look more black than blue most of the time, probably cos of the white roof and stripes. I do love the way it seems to change according to the light, though...

Actually, that could come in handy someday - "Hey, did you see that loony in the black MINI?" - "No, it was a dark blue MINI" - "No, it was black..." - "No, dark blue" etc

Here are some shots of our Astro Black Convertible with black roof. REALLY love the colour (and the car!!) and we've had lots of admiring glances and shouts of 'nice car mate' as we drive around!

Know someone with a cool blue convertible and it looks a completely different car - smaller looking, maybe something to do with our 17 inch alloys and sports suspension?

Got the chrome repeaters put on by our dealer. Not a mini option but I felt they'd have more success fitting them than me as I'm not known for motoring DIY!!! Amazed they said yes, but I obviously caught them in a good mood!!

They do make such a difference, they ought to be added to the chrome line exterior pack I reckon.

We have chrome mirror caps but not hinges! Not to our taste!
