strange rattle in the cupholder area

Anyone else notice this... sorta comes from the glove compartment/cupholder area... I can't pinpoint it. Sort of sounds like a subtle crackling or rattling... anyone?

United-States Yea I have it!

It is the cup holder, when your MINI get very warm inside, for driving it all day the connect to the big gulp cup holder on the right hand column starts to creak....
You might want to put some felt behind the cup hold where it sits on the column, or just tighten it. Mine seem sto shake alot when i go over bumps , like it needs a screw in the front(it only has TWO).
Thanks alpinamike

I get a ticking coming from the glovebox when the heated screen has been on for a few minutes. I think it is the relay.

Use Plummers Putty

Like everything else in my car that squeaks, I took the cupholder off and applied a thin strip of plummers putty to the back of it...now it's rock solid and no squeaks.

did the same thing under my passenger door panel to stop that (HK rattle).
