United-Kingdom Build week, this week (week 4)

Hi all,

My Cooper Cabriolet is being built this week, been waiting since August 2004!
Solid Black with Black Hood, Chilli, Bullets, Black/Red half leather, Chrome inside and outside, Anthracite trim.
Already bought my Quad lamps/bracket for the front!
Lots of chrome will be going on it, will be taking shopping list to Bingley on Sunday.
Hope it's going to be a good Summer with the top down, me and the wife are really looking forward to it.
Collecting it beginning of March - only about 5 more weeks to wait ! ! !

Black & Chrome MCC.
It's a MINI Jim - but not as we know it!

March would have meant even more miles on my MCS, that is what made me decide to change more than anything else

I am not bothered by reg months or plates, Jan gave me the car I wanted, LSD

How do you know which build week your car is in? I am due to get my MCSC on 1 March but I haven't heard anything about build dates. Do you think I should be worried.

depending on how the factory is doing with regards to keeping on schedule, then build starts normally 7 days prior to delivery, maximum of 10 days.

My car left paint shop last Thursday 2pm, then went to assembly, was all finished by 10am Friday 20th, it then left the factory on a transport on the Saturday, then its 2 days normally for inspection and prep, then off to dealers for final PDI which averages 2 days

Hope this helps

Thanks Rakey! That is extremely helpful and reassuring!! I was a bit worried that I wouldn't get it on time which would obviously be a complete disaster!

Cool

RedMini - Thanks, will do and probably on the BMC stand, see you there.
Rakey - That was the delivery date we were given (February) at time of ordering (August) so we elected to leave it 'till beginning of March, have got special registration purchased ready to go on.
Arbee - We have the same chrome bits on our spec, the lights are the SE quad lamps/lamp bar from MiniSport (delivered today). More bits to come when we visit MINI Fair at Bingley Hall on Sunday.
Hersheykiss - when I went up to the dealers Christmas holiday week to finalise the spec, it was then that they advised me of the build week (this week in fact).
It's first Run will be The Lakes Run on 13th March (2 weeks after we get it), hope we don't have any problems ! !
