JCW suspension - coming soon

Just spoke to JCG, and apparently they are working on a Suspension package for the Convertible, which is currently awaiting for approval from MINI

Think I shall be adding this to my MCSC JCW

suspension I think really is essential for me, as it is at times a bit bouncy coming out of corners at speed

That is good news, indeed! I hope it will be available on this side of the pond.

Ooooooh...that is excellent news! I think I have to have that - and just hope that it is available over here!

And Mini-Cabrio UK, just go ahead and get the JCW exhaust - Max (and you) will LOVE the extra bling of the tail pipes, and the sound is PERFECT for a Cabrio. I just had mine installed yesterday and couldn't be happier!!! I drove around all day with the top down and the sound was just right - just growly and throaty enough for open motoring without being obnoxious. Nicely designed, I must say. And my fears (that Rakey and others were kind to try and quell) about losing the stock S burbles and pops were indeed unfounded - it does it every bit as much as before, and they sound even better than before!! You will love it, I'm sure...

2005 MCSC JCW CAI, JCW exhaust, Webb-installed Alta 15% pulley, JCW strut brace, Whalen...and still modding!

glad to hear your happy with the exhaust, now you must get the airfilter, the brakes, the rest of the engine conversion and don't forget the strut brace

Rakey, Ahhh, I see we think alike
I already have the airbox, and I want to get the brakes - will probably wait until my RFs on my 17 inch bullet spokes go, since I have a setf of lightly used JCW 18 inch wheels waiting in my garage to be installed (with non RFs, of course!) I think that when those wheels get put on, I will get the brakes as well.

Bling, bling, bling and ka-ching ka-ching ka-ching at the cash register!

I have to think about the other engine bits - I read today on Motoring File that there is a definite YES to factory-equipped JCW coming for the 06 model year. Interestingly, the JCW kit will now include the JCW sport brakes and LSD as part of the whole package, due to BMWs fears that the added 210 HP in a front wheel drive car warranted the upgraded brakes and LSD be added for safety/handling reasons (though the ability to charge more $ may be a factor here, too!) Nonetheless, this is in fact the very dilemma I had recently when deciding whether to get the whole JCW package for my November-build (hence non-LSD equipped) 2005 MCSC. I was concerned about having unwanted handling issues with the extra power and considering the (considerable) additonal cost involved, wasn't sure I wanted to risk it and have to deal with wheelspin and cornering issues, since Pat Moss I am not (I wish!) As it turned out, I ended up with what I call the near beer version of JCW (see my thread on "JCW Jr.") which is the JCW airbox, exhaust, and (soon) Webb Motorsports installed 15% Alta pulley (closest in size to the JCW pulley and warrantied). I should have, theoretically, about 190 - 195 HP, which I think will be plenty to play with, and yet retain mostly-OEM mods and the JCW sound and bling factor...And the cost is waaaaaay less....

2005 MCSC JCW CAI, JCW exhaust, Webb-installed Alta 15% pulley, JCW strut brace, Whalen...and still modding!

Oh, I almost forgot - I am definitely going to get the JCW strut tower brace as soon as it comes out here (it's been promised and promised to us and yet been mysteriously delayed for MANY months already, and we are starting to get getting pretty annoyed, I can tell you!)

Was it you or Rentagas that said that it made a BIG difference in the Cabrio?

Probably so!
I'm curious, what did you notice as the biggest advantage to having the strut brace installed in the Cabrio? What was the biggest difference you noted vs. not having it?
