United-States Blown fuse, but WHY??

I brought my new Cooper convertible to the Princeton dealership for its 10,000 mile service this week. My complaint was that the reverse "alarm" no longer sounds when the car gets close to an object. They replaced the fuse and sent me on my way. Next morning I backed out of the garage and to my chagrin...no sound. Anyone else have this problem?

Also, I sometimes have difficulty putting the car in reverse gear when the engine is cold and the vehicle is totally stopped. The dealership claimed that they've heard this before and "they're looking into it." Anyone else notice this?

Do you have the cooper or the cooper s?
Mine can be difficult getting into reverse or else you will get a bit of a crunch noise. The way around the problem was to select first gear and then select reverse and it slips right in. Its just a characteristic of the gearbox that it doesn't always move alll the cogs into the neutral position.

hope this helps

Bob

Thanks Bob, I'll try that. I was also told to go into 5th, then down to reverse. Oh, its a Cooper.
