It's a sad day....

As the title suggests, it's a sad day.

My beloved MCC is now in Autotrader and in the For Sale Forum on here......i have changed jobs so to travel hence needing to get something a little bit more 'sensible and economical ' - i am dreading the thought of a diesel and keep trying to tell myself a sports hatch will be ok!

So i am getting in as much 'roof down' time before it has to go.....which means lots of it today now the sun is out in Norfolk!

Any sugegstions for a non-diesel replacement car that will average about 40 to the gallon on a run for about £4-6K (refusing to spend much to run it up and down the A roads!)

Thanks
T-bird

hi, sorry to hear that your MINI is going to have to go and we've never had the chance to meet up!!

If you spend a little more you could drive a car that will be cheap to run but also great to drive and much faster than the standard cooper off the blocks, what???

A Skoda Fabia vRS - it's our second car and it really is amazing - go check it out at robinson's on Barker street - you will not be disappointed with the speed and we often see high 50's to the gallon
Test Drive mag placed the vRS 3rd in it's wallet friendly GTI section this month - cooper came 1st!!

Have fun searching, let us know how you get on!

Michael

My 2002 Polo Diesel sport has just gone on autotrader as my MCSC Works has just replaced it. A little bit more than you wanted to spend at 8 ish. but a very good car nonetheless...

Cheers

Mark.

Thanks guys, still need to sell the MCC so (unhappily) still looking for a car to use on the daily grind of the A roads...... considering buying a clio or ford puma to run the 50 miles to work everyday, at least that way i still get CD and aircon and a little comfort for about £5K........just wish i could keep her for the weekends, bank balance just can't warrant that....will stash the cash for when i can return to a MINI adventure!

Thanks
