ahhhhhhhhhhh

Some *$@)%$%(%@( threw a fully lit Cig into my car when the top was down when he passed me on the road. I didn't catch his plates. By the time I noticed what hit me and rolled onto the floor there was a tiny part of the fabric singed . Very hard to see but its there if your looking.

Should I call my insurance or is not worth it.

Living in VA, I expect that sort of gooberism every day. Sorry to hear about the burn, good thing you caught it before it started a fire.

I hate to say it, but I would let it go. I try to save the insurance for the bigger events.
Jim

Life is hard, but it's a car. Learn to live with it... or have it repaired (but I think you do not want to spend so much cash on so little damage). Sorry to hear it.

Did that once myself in a beamer - shooting my cig out of the window and it re-entered through the rear sidewindow. Bad luck, stupid and stopped smoking after that.

Not nice when you're riding a motorcycle either, when someone that you're following throws a cigarette butt out of the window They don't realise that they burn intensely when they fly through the air and then either hit you or, in this case, land in someone else's car.

I once read an accident report where a life long non-smoking motorcyclist was found after a fatal accident in which, apparently, no one else had been involved. A cigarette butt was found trapped inside his visor. The coroner concluded that he had been very unlucky and a butt, that had been thrown from a car window, had been sucked up inside his visor and made him crash.

I did read the following with some satisfaction :

But I'm really pleased to see that some real good came of it.

To anyone that still throws their cigarette butts out of the window PLEASE STOP! If you must smoke, just keep the butt until you can get to a bin On my part, I promise not to throw a Yorkie wrapper out of the window

Tigger.

Haha! Well said Tigger!

I've had people throw out their cigarette butts numerous times while in my MCS and while on my motorcycle.

Howardpm,

I understand how that singe on the fabric would annoy you, but I agree with the others that it's not worth claiming for. I have a scratch on the plastic inside the car that was caused by a friend getting into my car in a hurry. Not worth claiming for, but I wish I could get it taken away. It's one of those things.

Is it deep? When not, try polishing with toothpaste. Sounds crazy, works like a charm...

It's not really deep, but the matt finish was damaged. It does sound crazy, but sometimes crazy solutions are the most effective I will definitely try it out.
