Buying a Cooper S Convertible

Hi folks,

I am about to buy an S convertible and I wish to have comments about winter driving.

I know a lot about the new MINI since I have already a 2004 Cooper. I live in Montreal Canada where temperature a very low during the winter months.

I have such questions as: Can we keep the interior hot event when it is –20 C ?

All comments are welcomed.

Eric

Sounds like heated seats are a must. Don't get the car without them if it gets that cold. I'm in the snow-belt of Ohio and will be in store for my first winter soon. I was told that the one thing you'll want to get is a small folding army type shovel (just in case) the guy I was talking to yesterday said he drove into high snow and it kind of lifted him up and that's how he got stuck (the only time last winter). I have DSC and it works (found out yesterday in a hard turn when the back end spun out about 6 inches.) I think it will come in handy this winter as well. I commute 70 miles round trip a day...

Thanks for the info.

My 2004 Cooper works very very fine in snow with good snow tires. This winter will be my 3rd one. In fact it drives in snow better than my previous car which was a Jetta VR6.

I should get my Cooper S convertible in mid January and I am more concerned with keeoping the interior warm with the convertible.

just as warm and comfy as a tintop, although to be honest even in winter the roof is down, scarf is on and wooly hat

Heated seats are a must, wind break for when travelling fast, it really is worth the money and don't forget its fine to have the top down windows up seats on and heater on full blast during winter you will keep warm.

PS A woolen hat is a must if you are slightly
thin on top as I am
