Service Experience at Morristown MINI (NJ)

I've had this large screw shoved into my right-rear run-flat since I was up in Northern Maine. I dropped by today without an appointment, the service advisor quickly put me in a slot to have the tire fixed, check my bumper/hood alignment, investigate my rear hatch squeek and reprogram my locks.

The technician (Frank) who worked on my car was a very nice 20-something technician/car enthusiast.

When I mentioned the rear hatch squeek he just groaned. He said that the hatch is hard to adjust and to eliviate the squeek you need to adjust the latch and not the hatch - it took him a whole day to get a hatch to stop squeeking! I'll make an appointment later to get that done.

As far as my hood/bumper alignment - Frank said it's normal and he's seen a few MCS's come in with scuffed up intercooler rubber. Also, all of them seem to leak a bit of coolant from the expansion tank.

All in all, an extremely good service experience! The best part of it was MINI Morristown (not my selling dealer) did not charge me for the tire fix or the reprogramming.
