I think Option 2 or 3 Mikey - you do have reservations about the GP, as do I hence a Speccable current model lets you get the exact spec you want? But, you would always fancy having the new shape, getting to know it early would help your business, be first out of the blocks so to speak with add ons for it? This is a decision a lot of people will have to make over the next few months - last of the 'classic' superchargers, or first of a new breed, with the possible teething problems a new model will undoubtedly have?

Mike, Agree with you that business wise, the new MINI is the sensible choice - but I'm sure you'll soon have customers rushing to you for help when it comes out anyway. I find the GP interesting, but it's just not as practical as a regular MINI - no rear seats, those wheels will die at the first pothole, etc. I got GBMINI#3 (now a year old) so I can wait out the new one for a couple years and see what transpires ... my recommendation to you is the same

My personal preference would be #3....................or maybe #2 ![]() For me the GP isn't a big enough leap forward to warrant not having the same levels of practicality, plus I couldn't have another MINI without xenons. I quite like the spy shots of the new MINI so the only negative side I can see is the potential for early faults & niggles with the new model. From a business point of view I can see how the new model makes a lot of sense

Mikey, for your business, there is no way around it, you have to get one of the new model and sooner is better than later. Think of the expertise and product line you have for the current MINI, and consider what it will take to get to a similar level for the new model. Won't you also need to keep at hand one of the current model, or at least ready access to one that you can take apart to test configuration and behavior of products?

from your post you obviously don't want a GT. -I'll have one, take off the body kit, fit some seats, change the wheels-oh that'll be a 218bhp JCW MCS! call me a heretic but I think the turbo-pergo engines in the new MCS will be great. I think the interior is great and I think once the gaffer tape is taken off the new new MINI will be a peach Good job they're not replacing the ultimate MINI until 2008
