Picked up my S on Saturday lunchtime and have covered about 300mls in it - only another 1200 or so till its run in... Not as much of a problem as I thought as with 6 gears you can still do over 100 with less than 4000rpm.
I have owned loads of cars >15 including 98 Subaru Impreza Turbo, 88 Lancia Integrale, 95 Alfa GTV V6 Turbo and despite waiting since last September, the MCS is by far my favourite
I have received excellent service from my dealer Holland Park too - thanks guys. Just a wee bit of 'snagging' to do -I expected this since the car is made in the UK!
I am really looking forward to my drive up to Scotland in a couple of weeks - should complete the run in.
For those in the queue - be patient its worth the wait! Also definitely get the MFS as the radio is quite a stretch from the drivers seat + its a great gadget!
continue to be even more pleased with the car - easy to drive in commuting traffic! Soo much torque, soo little effort - other road users are generally exceptionally polite - don't cut you up and let you into queues!
Only the City of Westminster traffic warden was unimpressed (jealous perhaps) nearly got a ticket!
Agree about the polite drivers. As long as you remain civil (be a nice motorer) other drivers seem pleased to allow you in - give you a break. I guess it's just so cute.
Picked my father up from National Airport (Just outside of Washington DC) Saturday night. Lot's of police presence since Sept 11 - they will no longer let you just wait for your arriving passengers. Got to keep moving. Anyway, airport police and VA state troopers come up to the car and don't ask me to move on - They want to talk about the Mini!!! Police "How does it run, my wife wants one"; State trooper "how fast does it go"...Me "Just the speed limit sir "
