With the new MINI on the immediate horizon there almost certainly won't be an auto JCW for the current model. The supposed word is that the next JCW will be released as a 2008 model and will have an available auto transmission.

There is a full JCW kit for the MCS auto, but it is not available in North America; they couldn't get the kit to pass the extreme emissions tests that certain states have . Apparantly the MCSa JCW is just a tiny little bit higher on the emissions than the regular JCW. There are a number of MCSa JCW's running around at the factory, as well as privately in the UK.

Check out the first gen automatic forum for more info and discussion.

Oops, what I should have said is that the automatic tranny is supposed to be available in the North American market for the JCW edition of the next generation MINI. There was a posting on MotoringFile.com that addresses this.
